Chapter 33
"He did show up," I said as I took off my coat. Thinking about his expression earlier only made me feel disgusted.
"What did he say?" Lila, the foodie, actually paused her eating and looked up eagerly.
"It's rare for something to distract you from your food." I chuckled.
Hearing that, Lila immediately continued eating. She looked at me and said, "Hurry up and spill it. You're killing me with all the suspense."
"He apologized. He asked me to forgive him," I said as I changed into my pajamas.
"So, you forgave him?" Lila looked utterly shocked.
"Of course not." I sighed helplessly. "But there's no way Kevin will quit his job. We'll keep bumping into each other, so I just said I wouldn't be hostile toward him."
At that moment, my phone rang. I picked it up to see an unfamiliar number. With a slight frown, I pressed the answer button.
"Hello?"
