Chapter 68 The talk
The air in Alex's father's study seemed heavy with tension as soon as they were alone. Alex closed the door behind them, his father, Michael, taking a seat behind his desk. There was a palpable sense of seriousness in the air as Michael looked at Alex, waiting for him to speak up.
“What's this all about, Alex?” Michael's tone was calm but curious, his eyes fixed on his son.
Alex's expression was tense, his brows furrowing as he spoke up. “What was all that about, Dad?” He couldn't help the frustration creeping into his voice.
Michael shrugged slightly, maintaining his composure. “It was about what you saw, Alex.”
“Did you invited Claire?” Alex's question came out with a mix of disbelief and annoyance.
Michael met his son's gaze steadily. “Yes, I invited her.”
Alex let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “Today was supposed to be the day for me to introduce Lisa to you and Mum,” he pointed out, his tone indicating his disappointment.
