Chapter 147 Won’t be easy
In the dimly lit, unused warehouse, the air was thick with tension and the smell of rust. The sound of shuffling feet echoed off the concrete walls as Eligos men pushed Ernesto forward. Ernesto's face was pale and wet with tears, his body trembling with fear.
Eligos stood up from the old, creaky chair and walked around the rusty metal table that stood between him and Ernesto. He leaned against it, crossing his arms, his expression calm and composed.
He observed Ernesto with a mix of curiosity and irritation, wondering where his men had found such a pitiful, insufferable man.
Ernesto, still crying, begged as he had been since entering the warehouse. “Please, Eligos, I didn't do anything to upset you. I swear! Just let me go.”
Eligos eyes narrowed slightly. He found Ernesto's behavior confusing and a little pathetic, but he maintained his calm demeanor. “I just want to talk to you, Ernesto,” he said smoothly.
