Just as she was planning to put away the documents on the table, there was a knock at the ward's door. Bryce's attention was drawn to the door. Upon seeing Conner's face, he quickly realized the need to conceal Maeve's identity. He said calmly, "I'm sorry, but now isn't a good time for visitors. Mr. Jefferson, please wait outside for a moment." Conner appeared unfazed by Bryce's refusal. He simply took a seat on a bench in the corridor.
