"From what I recall, Levi has never spoken a single truthful word. You claim he doesn't lie to you, but didn't he deceive you today?" Zion asked.
"I don't trust you. Levi would never lie to me. Stop trying to smear his name," Maeve retorted.
Her initial fear had vanished entirely. Without hesitation, she unbuckled her seatbelt, swung open the car door, and stepped out.
Zion frowned as he watched her storm off.
Maeve wandered aimlessly down the road, leaving Zion no choice but to trail behind her in the car, driving slowly.
Eventually, he rolled down the window, his voice tinged with exasperation. "I was talking nonsense earlier, okay? Get back in the car before you catch a cold."
"Not unless you apologize to Levi," Maeve shot back.
Zion sighed, rubbing his temples, "Fine. I was wrong. I misjudged Levi. He's the most honest man in existence, someone who never tells a lie. Happy now?"
