Chapter 1753
Exhausted, Maeve finally threw the pillow aside and panted as she pointed at Zion.
"You! Go down to the fountain, drench yourself completely, and shout three times, 'Mercy, my lady!'"
Zion remained silent at her command.
"If you don't do as I say, I'll—"
Maeve raised the photo again, but before she could finish her threat, Zion moved.
In one swift motion, he grabbed her wrist, his unexpected action leaving Maeve momentarily stunned. Without a word, he pulled her toward the stairs.
Clueless of what Zion was up to, panic flashed across Maeve's face for the first time.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let me go!" she protested.
It was when they reached the front yard that Zion abruptly let her go.
Maeve stumbled slightly, nearly colliding with his back, but before she could gather herself, Zion spun around.
They stood so close, and the intensity in his gaze made Maeve's heart skip a beat.
"Not a word about this to anyone," Zion said, his voice low and commanding. "Or else…"
