Sheldon sighed and shook his head at Maeve's pointed question. "I swear, nothing escapes you."
"If you know nothing gets past me, then why drag this out?" Maeve asked.
She met his gaze and replied, "This time, our fate remains uncertain. Can't you just tell me what's going on?"
"Maeve." Sheldon turned to face her with a serious look.
"This time, none of us can die. That's why I promised you that once today is over, I'll tell you everything."
Maeve said nothing.
"If you want answers, you have to stay alive. I think Zion agrees with me, too," Sheldon added as he glanced at Zion.
Zion had always done whatever Maeve asked of him, but not this time. This time, he didn't want her to know.
"Mavy, if we all make it through this..." Zion's grip on her hand tightened before he corrected himself. "No. We will make it. We have to."
"Alright," Maeve answered.
"We'll all stay alive, and then... I want to hear you both tell me the truth. Not even a single person from here can be excluded.
