Chapter 1498
Zion led Maeve to the innermost room on the left.
As the door creaked open, he instinctively shielded her from the dust that fell from the frame.
It took a moment before Maeve's eyes adjusted enough to take in the full view of the room.
The space was barely a hundred square feet, with three sets of bunk beds. The rust on the metal frames was so bad it was almost impossible to ignore.
Aside from that, the room was bare—only a simple stand with a copper basin on it.
Zion's description of the place as "simple" had been an understatement.
"There's not much to see here. It's filthy. Let's go."
Zion gently pulled Maeve's arm, but she seemed intrigued. "Which bed was yours?" she asked.
"This one," Zion replied as he pointed to the bottom bunk at the farthest end.
"So, this room is shared by you, Hector, and Liam?"

"We were the last batch to arrive, so it was just the three of us in here that time."
