"Well, it's Charlie! You've met him before," Lyra said vaguely.
"Charlie?" Maeve murmured, "Charlie? Sounds familiar."
"The Foster family's scion. He used to come by a few times when we were kids but stopped after that."

She was half-listening as she held a gown against herself and eyed her reflection in the mirror.
"Lyra, what do you think? Does this look good on me?"

Lyra tilted her head and gave it a once-over. "Yeah, it's nice... but don't you already have a mountain of red gowns?"
