The group had been traveling through the mountains for over half an hour, and exhaustion had begun to weigh heavily on everyone.
"Shit!"
Charlie's sudden shout jerked everyone back to attention. They watched as the car veered sharply, followed by a screeching stop.
The group screamed, and the car only fell into uneasy silence after a long while.
Sabrina's face was drained of color. "Do you even know how to drive? If not, just let me take over!"
"Is it a blown tire?" Lyra asked. She got out of the car, with Charlie right behind her.
The others followed suit to see what was going on.
After examining the tire, Lyra frowned. "We can't go any further. A massive rock in the middle of the road is just too dangerous."
Charlie muttered, "The Hackett family really doesn't know how to take care of their own land, huh? It's their property—how hard would it be to have someone clear the roads every once in a while?"
Lyra rolled her eyes. "You're delusional if you think that's their priority
