Lyra frowned. "Mavy, have you thought this through? Do you really want to let Hector go?"
"Let him go," Maeve replied.
"But since the person pulling the strings managed to contact you, he'll likely do so again. You two will probably keep in touch, right?"

Maeve continued, "The next time he reaches out, I want to know the time and place of your meeting.
"If it's an online encounter, I expect a video recording of it. Hector, do you have any objections?"
Hector glanced up at Maeve. He knew that she intended to use him as bait.
Even though Maeve had decided to spare him, the person behind all this would have undoubtedly reached out to him again to ensure Maeve remained unaware of his identity.
Maeve was indeed Zion's woman. It was astonishing that she had thought several steps ahead.
"Alright, I agree," Hector said, "But I have one condition."
"Right now, your lives are in my hands. You don't get to set conditions," Maeve replied
