Chapter 14
The nearest shop was her fashion shop. They walked three streets and arrived in less than ten minutes.
At noon, there were a lot of people, but the room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the price wouldn't be too high, so Simona almost blurted out and chose to come here.
When the two walked in, a couple finished eating and left by the window. The two of them happened to occupy such a good seat.
"Are you free this weekend?"
Spencer asked as he handed her the menu.
"The original taste." Simona ordered the food and turned to look at Spencer. She shook her head and said apologetically, "I'm sorry. I might have an interview this weekend."
"Interview? You resigned from the Night Club?"
Spencer was a little surprised. The salary of the Night Club was so high. He was indeed surprised that she suddenly resigned.
Simona nodded, "yes."
"Why?"
He was confused and frowned at her.
Simona pursed her lips and smiled at him, "I didn't want to do it, so I quit."
It was obviously a perfunctory reason, but he looked at her resolute face and did not continue to ask.
"As long as you are happy."
It was just a short sentence, but Simona felt something stuck in her throat and uncomfortable, as if her eyes had been smoked.
Spencer knew that she was a bartender in the Night Club. He knew that she had a paralyzed father. He knew all her sufferings, but he never cared.
She suddenly remembered Maria's words. In this world, no man would be like Spencer who didn't care about your work; I don't care about your past; I don't care about your father.
Yes, there would never be such a man again, so she couldn't hurt him either.
"Simona, in fact, you don't have to do this. I've been..."
"Spencer, if you take me as your friend, I hope you won't say that again."
As soon as he opened his mouth, she knew what he wanted to say. The whole world knew that she was short of money. The halo of Miss Flores had been erased by reality, and now she even lost her dignity.
But she still wanted to keep her pride in front of Spencer.
"Sorry, I just feel sorry for you."
Simona smiled and covered her face with her hand. She said in a low and depressed voice, "I've been here for so many years. Don't worry about me. Spencer, I'll be fine."
Obviously, she wanted to get rid of him. Spencer smiled bitterly and asked, "Simona, what's wrong with me?"
It was so bad that she would rather bear everything alone than rely on his shoulder.
She didn't say anything. She didn't dare to say anything. She was afraid that her words would expose all her emotions.
The two of them suddenly fell silent. After a long time, Simona released her hands and looked at Spencer with an apologetic smile. "Is there anything interesting this time?"
Seeing her change the topic like this, Spencer felt his heart sink, but he still smiled and said, "this time I'm going to..."
She didn't know what Spencer was talking about. Looking at his mouth, she felt her mind was in a mess. She just smiled occasionally and watched him happily telling the funny story of the shooting.
It was not because he was not good, but because he was too good.
He was so kind that she didn't think she deserved him.
