In the afternoon, it snowed so heavily that Linda almost considered canceling the booking.
The booking wasn't cheap, and cancellations were allowed up to four hours before dinner. Beyond that time, a 30% service fee would be charged.
Though money wasn't an issue, Linda wasn't the type to waste it. Her philosophy was to save wherever possible and never spend frivolously. Even as a wealthy businesswoman who didn't care about trivial amounts of money, she was cautious when it came to spending.
"Aunt Chloe, look! Doesn't that light over there look like the crystal ball you gave me before?" Lexi pointed at a lamp hanging at the end of the corridor.
The lamp, more decorative than functional, gave off a dim glow that barely lit the space.
Linda followed her gaze.
"It does look like the crystal ball I gave you," Chloe replied. "But the one I gave you had gemstones inside, and even the prince and princess figurines inside were carved out of gemstones."
She never gave cheap gifts.
