Chapter 31
"Uncle Tom, why are you still the same as ever?" Linda asked, barely masking the disdain in her eyes.
She crouched beside him. "To be frank, that phone call you made to me four years ago was a real wake-up call."
Linda would have remained oblivious to so many things without that call. She added, "Relax, Uncle Tom. I promise you that your dreams will never come true."
She glanced at Wendy, who caught on quickly. Wendy signaled to the security personnel to escort Tom out.
From her seat at the head of the table, Linda scanned the room, noting how everyone was too frightened to speak up.
"You all had a good relationship with my parents when they were alive, and I believe in your integrity. I'm a reasonable person and prefer not to take any legal action.
"Today, I'm allowing you to come forward and admit to what you've done. Regardless of the discrepancies, I will not hold them against you as long as you can address them.
