A Bet

I couldn't help sighing. Joey and Nathan coveted the Brown Group for their whole life, but it was a discardable toy in the eyes of Carroll.  Stimulated by curiosity, I asked, "Do you want to sell the Brown Group?" Carroll shrugged his shoulders casually. "Yes, I don't want a burden." I sighed. "Won't those people who live on its dividends starve to death?" "There's up and down in life." Carroll sat beside me, so I rest my head on his shoulder. The setting sun hid most of itself behind the distant mountain. I stretched my hand to block the little afterglow. "It would be great if you weren't Carroll." "Who then? Bob?" Carroll followed my lead to touch the sunshine. Hearing the name of Bob, I instantly withdrew my hand. "Why do you keep mentioning Bob?" Carroll pulled me into his arms and said, "I'll tie you around me in case the others take you away." "Hey, I'm not an accessory. How can you tie me around you?" I rolled my eyes and enjoyed this embrace.  I wished this moment would last fo
