Stuart hurriedly ended the call and went off to take care of things.
The traffic light turned green, and Clara followed the cars through the intersection.
Mark had parked his car at the roadside.
Clara noticed his car and pulled over as well. She rolled down her window and asked, "Mr. Fowler, why did you stop?"
They hadn't arrived yet.
"Why are you so slow? I thought you might have taken a wrong turn."
"I got a call from Mr. Powell, so I slowed down. Sam started crying again at night. The charm's effectiveness has only lasted three days."
Mark's face flushed red. His skills were already limited, and Clara often joked that his abilities were just a drop in the bucket. Without Clara to communicate with spirits, he could only handle some less evil spirits. Slightly more challenging cases were beyond his capability.
The charms he made were the most basic kind, and now their effectiveness had decreased to just three days. But a three-day span was still better than none at all.
