It's Hopeless
Her voice took on a sobbing tone toward the end.
Madam Dahlia choked up a bit, especially upon seeing Lucille's face as pale as paper. Her heart was filled with worry. "Mr. Joseph, she's currently in the Jules Residence. Several doctors have come, but all of them have been saying there's no hope for her." She sobbed through the phone.
On the other end of the line, Joseph's voice was cold and calm. "I'm on my way."
Then, the call ended.
Since the phone was not put on speaker, Jolene could not hear the conversation. She questioned Madam Dahlia, "What did he say?"
Holding the receiver in her hand, Madam Dahlia murmured, "He hung up."
"He hung up?"
Jolene furrowed her brow. "Did Mr. Joseph say anything at all?"
Madam Dahlia shook her head and then nodded. "Mr. Joseph said he's on his way."
He said he would arrive soon. In reality, he arrived within six minutes.
