A Glimpse of Confusion
Robert sat in the backseat of the off-road vehicle while staring at the crowd outside the window. Their faces were filled with anger and righteous fear, and a glimpse of confusion appeared in his tea-colored eyes.
Among the range of emotions he perceived, besides anger, there were several others, such as indifference, gloomy sarcasm, and a selfish side to humans.
These people, under the guise of denouncing him, were not genuinely concerned for the safety of all humans as they claimed. They feared something more personal—the ramifications of their self-interest and the potential chain reaction that the mutants might bring.
They even wanted to capture Robert and study him. After all, a successful robot like him would draw a hefty price in the market.
These were their true thoughts.
Robert's gaze shifted slightly, murmuring, "Humans are so complicated..."
