Josephine couldn't sleep. What happened this afternoon really bothered her. Carlos's questions and words were always ringing in her ears. "Mommy, shh... Mommy," Flower whispered, tugging at Josephine's pajama sleeve. With raised eyebrows, Josephine turned her head. "Hey, little girl, why aren't you sleeping yet?" whispered Josephine while stroking Flower's hair. "Mommy, are you thinking about Uncle Nicholas?" whispered Flower with a seductive smile. "Are you starting to get attracted to him?" "Hush, don't mention him again," Josephine said. "Sleep, honey, you need to rest." Flower held Josephine's hand. "Mommy, I'm sorry I messed up this afternoon and got you involved with Uncle Nicholas. I had no idea those car badges were so expensive and you had to work for him for it." Josephine kissed Flower's hand and stroked her hair. "It's okay. Now go to sleep. Mommy needs to take a shower and then sleep too."
