Chapter 11
Natasha went back to her room to take a bath and when she came down, she found Edward, who had already come out of his room. She then hurried down from upstairs and looked around but did not see any guests.
"They are coming." Edward opened his mouth to tell Natasha, seeming to be aware of what Natasha was looking for. She then scratched her head with some embarrassment. Her curiosity was too great, so she couldn't wait.
"Sit down and eat first." Edward added a piece of Natasha's favorite fish and put it on her plate. She had some doubts.
"Did you not say there were guests coming? Can we really eat first?"
Was it not nice to move the chopsticks before the guests came?
"Do not wait for him." Edward did not care at all. He picked up a shrimp in the dish and began to shell it.
"Uncle."
Natasha was thinking about who the guests would be when Jake stood by her side quietly. Was Jake the person who Edward was talking about? No wonder they did not have to wait for the guest to start eating.
When Jake called Edward uncle, he nodded his head, and conveniently put the shelled shrimp in his hand into Natasha's plate.
"This shrimp was specially picked for you at noon today. Eat more."
As he spoke, he picked up another shrimp with a shell and peeled it off. His behavior completely stunned Jake and Sam who stood beside them. Edward, whom they knew before, was a person who hated this kind of thing very much and hated any trouble at the dinner table. Not to mention shelling shrimp, but now he was peeling shrimp for Natasha? Serving Natasha so carefully, it was really the sun coming out from the west.
Jake hadn't reacted from his surprise, when he heard Edward say, "You did not greet your aunt yet."
The atmosphere became awkward. Jake was unwilling to call Natasha aunt, not only because of their age, but also because Natasha was his own girlfriend before. But compared with his unwillingness, Jake was more afraid of Edward, so he had to call her aunt in a small voice.
Natasha was somewhat embarrassed, which was neither good nor bad. Fortunately, Jake called her aunt, so Edward did not say anything more. But the whole dinner table fell into a particularly awkward atmosphere. No one spoke.
Under the oppression of this atmosphere, Jake had to speak. "What is the matter uncle, why did you call me here today?" Jake was especially afraid of Edward since his childhood. Even the time that Edward was seen as a cripple in other people's eyes, it did not affect Jake's fear.
"What have you done that you did not know?" Edward asked seriously. Jake was most afraid of Edward's rhetorical question. The feeling of being half cold was not good at all. He bit his teeth and suddenly thought of dismissing Natasha at work earlier.
In his heart, he looked down on Natasha and hated her. She and his uncle are husband and wife, he thought. Realizing that, he immediately came back and cursed himself.
"Aunt, I'm sorry." The gentleman could stretch and bend, and Jake was ready to swallow this breath for the time being, so as not to make his uncle mad.
Natasha was not calm at all. Before, Edward did not like it that she had to go out and find a job by herself, but she still looked for a job behind his back. Forget it, she thought. He knew it. She knew that Edward would be angry so Natasha was a little uneasy.
When Natasha was struggling, Jake had been called away by Edward. Looking at Natasha's distracted appearance, Edward felt a little funny.
"I just do not like it very much when you go out and look for a job, but if you want, I will support you." In such a sentence, Natasha's hesitation and worry were easily dispelled. Natasha's hanging heart finally returned safely.
"Thank you!"
In order to thank her husband, Natasha decided to cook in person, so she went to prepare actively.
Natasha finally brought back what she bought, sweating profusely. As soon as she entered the door and put down her things, she sat on the ground and gasped.
"I'm really tired. I did not expect to go so far at such a close distance, but when I think of Edward, what I have done is worth it." Natasha was tired and happy.
Just sitting for a while, she came back to life with blood.
"Auntie, I will cook dinner today. Please have a rest." She walked towards the kitchen with the vegetables she bought.
"Miss, I will do it. You will hurt yourself." Sylvia looked at Natasha full of doubts. "She was so young, can she cook?" She thought to herself.
"Auntie, you can rest assured, I can, if you won't believe me, you can ask Mr. Miller. Before I came in, I passed the cooking test. I am very powerful."
"Yes, I can testify." Sam looked at Sylvia's distrustful eyes and said quickly.
Natasha saw her and agreed then she happily went into the kitchen.
Although Sam promised, Sylvia still didn't feel at ease. If she screwed up, she couldn't eat tonight.
Natasha skillfully handled the ingredients, and was busy in an orderly way.
She looked at Natasha's skillful knife technique, and she was particularly surprised. She had been doing it all the time, but she could never practice several times. "I am also half a chef, which I can still see." Natasha thought then smirked.
Looking at the busy figure, the woman was shocked and surprised. Her daughter was twenty years old and could not do anything. Mr. Busch really found a good girl.
Thinking about the girl in her own family and looking at Natasha, the woman suddenly felt a little distressed for her. At her age, she should be a treasure in her parents' hands, and these things, they would not let the children do it. How sensible that she needed to be so skilled.
"Well, the meal is ready, let's eat."
After a while, Natasha cooked a sumptuous dinner.
