Chapter 76
I step on the gas, going past the speed limit. Neil had said to wait for him to call the cops, but I know Sean only needs a few minutes with Finn to plant whatever images he needs to keep him there.
My car pulls up in front of the light green bungalow that has been my home for years, and I run down to the porch, shoving my key into the keyhole. Once. Twice. The lock doesn’t budge. Sean’s changed the lock and by looks of the yard and a peek through the windows into the empty house, he hasn’t been in here in a while either.
I reach for my phone, swearing under my breath as I dial the number that's been burned into my memory. One ring. Two. Three. Where would he take Finn?
The call goes straight to voice mail and I go again, panicking and so very close to breaking down.
No answer.
