"Oh dear, you both sleep in separate rooms?" Harriet says, eyes wide with disapproval. "How do you plan on having children if you keep up with this?"
I stare at her blankly. Children? With a man who lies to me and doesn't trust me? That's a stretch. I really should have given it a second thought before hopping into this marriage with Ethan.

"We're still getting to know each other," I mutter, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.
Ethan's grandmother adjusts the frame of her glasses, letting it perch on her nose, and her stern gaze hold me to the spot. "You have all the time in the world to know each other, May, but I'm afraid with each passing day, the chances that I'll see my grandchild reduces. Surely, you understand my fear."
I do, but I can't stomach the idea of sharing a bed with Ethan right now. Not after everything. I wonder if I asked Harriet about Ethan, she would tell me everything.
