"Mother-in-law?" Emily exclaimed in surprise. "You look so young! Ms. Brooks is really lucky." Melanie's smile widened at the compliment. "My son is the lucky one to marry Lily." She checked her watch and added, "They should finish soon. Why don't we have lunch together? I've already reserved a restaurant." James considered the offer for a moment and then nodded. "Thank you, that would be wonderful." They arrived at 6:00 am that morning just to be there for Anya's exam. Anya was thoughtful and didn't want them to make the long trip since she knew the school was far from home. So, they came secretly without making any arrangements for accommodation or meals. Taking up Melanie's offer seemed like the perfect opportunity. Shortly after, Lily and Anya emerged from the school. "Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?" Anya asked, pleasantly surprised to see her parents at the school gates. "We came to support you during your exam," Emily said, smiling as she gently patted Anya's head.
