Chapter 1218
The public would never allow another woman to tear apart Lily's family. Even though Lily was gone, they all felt it was their duty to guard the home she had left behind.
Loid and Lily chose to remain out of sight within Pearhall Estate to avoid public scorn. In truth, with their influence, they could have easily buried the controversy—but Lily refused.
Not only did she decline to suppress public opinion, but she also took control, amplifying the uproar and ensuring that even more people heard about it.
"It's about time," Lily said calmly, putting away her phone. "The ones who needed to take the bait have all received the message."
"Then let's deal with them all at once," Loid replied. "It's better to eliminate the threat completely than to let them keep crawling out of the shadows."
Just as Loid finished speaking, the doorbell rang. He rose to answer it but froze when he saw who was standing there. It took him a few seconds before he finally asked, "Michael? What brings you here?"
