Chapter Forty-Two - Chase
Willow took a bite of her food and scrolled through her phone. I watched from the small table in the corner of our hotel room.
I’d been so scared watching her thrash around in my lap. Her heartbeat was so loud I felt it in my own throat. I was thankful she saw the man's face, but at the same time, it'd scared the hell out of me.
We’d spent almost an hour finding a freelance sketch artist in the city. We reached out to two, and she agreed to relax and go out while we waited on a response.
She took another bite of her food, shut her to-go container and rolled over to her back. “That was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.”
She sat up on her elbows, and I knew what she’d ask before she asked it.
“No one has wrote me,” I said.
She rolled her eyes and stood up to stretch. “Okay, mind reader. I'm not that predictable. Do you still want to go out? It’s getting late out. The clubs will open soon.”
“You said you wanted to dance. So we’re going to go dance.”
