Chapter 7
"Hello, we're here to audition for the campaign," Bobby announced as he cocked his head, fixating his twinkling eyes on Linda.
Linda took in a deep breath to regain her composure. She was out of her mind; how was it possible that these two adorable children belonged to Jay Sullivan?
Jay Sullivan would never be able to spawn such adorable offspring!
She kneeled so that she was eye-level to them and stroked their heads. "What are your names?"
"I'm Nina Jacobs."
"And I'm Bobby Jacobs," they answered in unison.
Linda was about to lose her mind. She could not believe how adorable these two were!
The idea of placing them in front of a camera…
She whipped her head around and shouted to her colleagues, "Hey, you! Bring these two models to get changed ASAP!"
She could not wait to see how the photos turned out!
Meanwhile, a Mercedes-Maybach pulled up in front of the entrance to TG Group offices. A row of bodyguards lined up along the entrance, keeping the crowd at bay.
Jay got out of the car and strode into the lobby.
At the same time, Linda sent two raw, unedited photos of Bobby and Nina in their new outfits to Roger.
Roger froze in his footsteps when he saw the photos. He could not help zooming in on the photos, his jaw dropping in disbelief.
The next moment, he caught up with Jay. "Mr. Sullivan."
"Yes?"
Jay reached his private elevator and got in with Roger, following suit. Roger handed his phone to Jay and said, "Look at this."
Jay's entire body stiffened when his gaze landed on those photos. He was not one to spend too much time looking at things that failed to interest him, but he could not tear his eyes away from the two children in the photo.
"Linda sent me these. Young Blood has managed to find two new models for their campaign, and they look… eerily similar to you."
On second glance, Jay knew Roger was right. The little boy had the same eyes he did. The two children seemed to take after his chiseled facial features, especially the boy.
Jay furrowed his brows as he handed Roger's phone back to him. "Where are these children?"
"They're probably still in the studio."
Jay pressed the button for the studio floor. For some reason, he had a strange urge to meet these children as soon as he could.
Casper, who at this moment had hacked into the surveillance footage of the TG Group building, zoomed in on the image of Jay heading straight toward the studio. He dialed Bobby's number.
Bobby's smart watch buzzed. He snuck away to pick up Casper's call. "What's up, Casper?"
"Jay Sullivan is on his way to your location. You and Nina should get as close to him as you can, and get your hands on a lock of his hair!"
"Okay!"
Bobby returned to Nina's side and whispered Casper's plan to her. Nina nodded in understanding. "Will do."
Casper snickered as he watched Jay get closer and closer to the studio. Once they obtained a sample of his hair, they would soon find out if this man was truly their father!
Linda approached him when she saw Jay standing outside the studio. "What brings you here, Mr. Sullivan?"
Roger answered before Jay could even say a word, "Where are those two children?"
"Right there," Linda replied, pointing in Bobby and Nina's direction. The two children were, at this moment, perched atop a small bench, peering at the cameras in childlike curiosity.
Jay made a beeline straight toward them.
"Nina, Bobby," Linda called out. The two children turned around and came face-to-face with a towering Jay Sullivan.
They gazed up at this lanky man towering over them. Bobby instinctively stepped in front of his sister, the guarded look on his face mirroring Jay's exactly.
"Who are you?" Bobby asked, staring straight at him.
He knew full well what the answer would be.
Jay narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?"
"What business is it of yours?" Bobby retorted.
Roger and Linda balked at this. The audacity of this kid to talk back to Jay Sullivan!
Nina tugged at Bobby's sleeve in feigned fear. "Bobby, I want to go home."
Bobby stroked her hair in reassurance. "Don't be scared. I'm here with you."
A glimmer of disappointment flashed through Jay's eyes. Did he look that scary? Why were the children so intimidated by him?
"I'm the boss of this company. Where are your parents?" he asked, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.
Roger and Linda were both stunned to see Jay talking this way.
Nina replied cheerfully, "Mommy's busy, and we don't know where Daddy is."
Jay did not know how to respond to this.
To everyone's surprise, Nina reached out her arms toward him and crooned, "Pick me up, Uncle Handsome."
Everyone's jaw dropped. Did this young girl just ask Jay to pick her up?
Bobby pretended to stop Nina and warned, "Nina, Mommy said we can't let strangers touch us. If we do so, we're going to be kidnapped."
"This man doesn't look like a bad guy," Nina replied. The next moment, she was lifted off the ground, much to everyone's shock.
Nina's little arm curled around Jay's neck, and she blinked innocently at him. "Uncle Handsome, you're just as good-looking as my brother! You have the same eyes!"
This was Jay's first time carrying a child, so everything felt new to him. For some reason, he could not help feeling that this girl reminded him of someone.
"What's your Mommy's name?"
