By the time her workday was over, Olivia was so tired that she was only thinking of going back home to sleep. So she packed up her things into her purse and arranged the items on her desk, ready to clock out of work. She browsed through her phone as she waited for the elevator to come down to her floor. When the doors slid open, she was surprised to see that Nicholaus was inside. “Are you clocking out?” he asked her, and Olivia nodded as she stepped inside. “Me too. What a coincidence,” he said, making her laugh. She felt like there had been a lot of coincidences with him recently. She wondered if he knew she had applied to work here from the beginning, so he found a way to help her indirectly through Matteo. The more she thought about it, the more it seemed to make sense.
