Ashton let out a laugh, brushing off Layla's biting tone. He then turned back to Tristan, squinting at him after a short pause, and lowered his voice, asking, "What are you doing here, Tristan?"
Layla felt a sudden wave of anxiety wash over her, and a twinge of guilt hit her.
She guessed it was probably because Poppy had caught her and Tristan looking more than just friendly the other day at the hospital. It made her wonder if Poppy spilled the beans to Ashton. But by the look on Ashton's face, it seemed like he was in the dark.
