Chapter 42 Chains of Betrayal
Caitlyn's POV
The sunlight was too bright, and it took a while for my eyes to adjust. My surroundings were blurry, and I realized how badly I needed to eat.
I felt powerless. Blake knew about my brother, and now he was surrounded by people who wanted Raymond dead. My mind flashed back to when my brother had been imprisoned by Raymond.
It was a nightmare. My brother was alive—and he was on their side.
I couldn't think about why he'd been captured in the first place. I didn't want to be what Blake said—just a useless pretty face. I had to do something.
Lily stirred in my mind. "Hey, Lily, I need to act!"
I clutched my head, the dizziness from the drugs and hunger still gripping me. Leaning on the railing, I made my way downstairs. And there he was—my brother, sitting on the couch like nothing was wrong.
He knew what I'd been through, but he hadn't lifted a finger to help me.
