Chapter 34 Running from Shadows

　　Caitlyn’s POV 　　The cold from the floor seeped into my feet, making me shiver. The lively party, the sweet kisses—it all felt like a dream that never happened. Raymond wouldn't even look at me anymore. His stone-cold silence hurt more than shouting. 　　"You had a child, Caitlyn." His voice was cold as ice, every word cutting into my ribs. "What did you think I'd do?" 　　We stood there in silence, years of tangled problems between us. When guards dragged me back to the damp cellar, even the darkness felt like it was laughing at me. Raymond's anger felt different this time—this was something dangerous, like a storm that could destroy everything. 　　He stared at me so long I thought he might burn holes in my skin. When he finally walked away, my chest tightened. Watching him leave felt like the end, carved in stone. 　　Somewhere in the dark, I knew Raymond was fighting against himself. If the Moon Goddess listened, he'd probably rip out his own heart and let me live inside him—two broken he
