Chapter 7
The secretary had just walked out the door with the medicine bottle, and ran head-on into Brenda.
"I'm Andrea Qin's best friend, give me the medicine bottle." Brenda smiled and stretched out her hand. She took it, put it in her bag, and casually walked into the office.
The smell of lovemaking lingered in the air, and Brenda gritted her teeth with jealousy, but the expression on her face was calm. She glanced at the messy ground and smiled. "Charlie, why is there such a mess?"
When Charlie saw her, his face lit up. "Have you chosen the wedding dress?"
"I have arranged the wedding, the wedding dress, and the engagement hotel." Brenda sat on Charlie's lap and leaned against his chest happily. "Charlie, I dream of marrying you."
She lowered her eyelashes and covered her spiteful eyes. Under Andrea Qin's threat, she could only sneak to Charlie like a mistress. The jealousy almost drove her into a fever.
The suicide note and Andrea Qin's warning were like time bombs. She can't wait for three months. That woman must die now!
"It's hard for you." Charlie touched her stomach. "Three months from now, I will give you a grand wedding, and no one can separate us."
As he hugged Brenda, Andrea's pale face flashed on his mind for no reason. His chest palpitated. He rubbed his eyes as if to erase her from his sight.
This woman occupied too much space in his head. He saw her everywhere!
Why does he still think of her pale face and thin body at this time?
Charlie shook his head.
After he personally sends Andrea Qin to prison, he will marry Brenda. Then he will be able to move on. They should never have been together in the first place!
Andrea Qin sat beside her sick father, carefully wiping his face with a small towel. Ever since her father had fallen critically ill, he had been in a coma.
"Dad, I'm dying, but don't worry, I’ve asked Jeffrey Su to take care of you." Andrea Qin spoke softly, wiping her dad’s wrist, which was just as thin as hers.
"It's because I was too greedy. I always wanted what didn’t belong to me. Now I’ve lost our family, I’ve lost you. And I’ve lost myself, too. Yet he still doesn't love me. I have nothing. I’m sorry, Dad."
A teardrop fell on the quilt.
"Dad, your daughter hasn’t been filial, please don't blame Charlie." Andrea Qin whimpered and wiped her father's forehead with a towel. "It was my fault from the start. I shouldn't have loved him in the first place. Even our families had never joined together, but remained separate clans..."
In the marriage, she was the only one who expressed affection. She had bet all her chips and had lost completely.
"Andrea Qin, he is not worthy of your love." Jeffrey Su's low voice came from behind.
Andrea Qin hurriedly wiped her tears, turned around and smiled reluctantly.
"This is your medical report." Jeffrey Su's eyes were sad. "You let me know about your lung cancer. But you can’t even tell him, even after how much you’ve done for him."
"I want to leave with dignity, and don't want to be a burden on him."
Even though she had placed his needs before her own, he wouldn’t even give her freedom. It can't be overstated how much Charlie hated her.
Jeffrey Su looked at her silently, clenching his fists.
Andrea Qin's throat was itchy, and soon she was coughing violently while covering her mouth, bleeding from the tissue in her hand.
She crumpled the tissue to prevent Jeffrey Su from seeing the blood.
Her body was getting weaker and weaker, and she was supported by painkillers. She had less than three months to live.
Andrea sat unsteadily on the chair, shaking his hands and took out a document from his bag. "Jeffrey Su, can you have this copied for me?"
Her graceful handwriting was on the paper.
Divorce Agreement.
"You want a divorce?"
"Yes. One month is enough."
She had always wanted to get a divorce, before she had made a deal with Charlie. She had been thinking of getting a divorce even though she had wanted to win his heart. She had only hoped to get one percent of his love, but she could not get even that. She had lost.
Even if he spends more time with her, that man doesn’t think of her as his wife. It would be better to cut her losses. That way, at least, he wouldn’t have to see her. She looked miserable. It was unsightly.
"What?" Jeffrey Jeffrey hesitated to speak, his eyes were complicated and obscure.
"What's happening?"
Jeffrey Su said in a low voice. "Andrea Qin, the blood test shows that you are pregnant. Pregnancy in your condition is very risky."
