Chapter 3
At the last moment, Charlie let go.
He still had to keep Andrea’s father alive. He didn't want this old thing to die so quickly.
Pulling up his pants, he quit without hesitation. There was no love in what he had done, he was simply exerting his dominance.
On the screen, several nurses rushed into the room and rolled the dying old man out.
A phone rang. Charlie took out his mobile phone. He pressed the "hands free" button and put it on the table, and he used both of his hands to put his belt back on.
The mobile phone was next to Andrea Qin's face. A familiar voice spoke from the mobile phone.
"Charlie, when are you coming?"
The voice was a familiar one. Andrea Qin's mind went blank. Her fingers curled up into a fist.
"I just left this morning. Do you really miss me again?"
Without waiting for her to recover from the great shock, Charlie's voice came from behind, with a hint of tenderness.
"Come over for dinner. My mother wants to see you."
"Well, I'll pick you up then."
The color drained from Andrea Qin's face. A chill spread down her spine, and her whole body was shivering.
"Charlie, how long have you been with her?"
Charlie buckled his belt, covered her mouth, and pressed her back down. His thin lips were malicious and his tone was more gentle.
"Brenda, what gift do you want?"
"Bring me some herbal tea from Qibaozhai. I have no appetite recently." Brenda said, "do you have a woman over there?"
"I'm socializing outside. Just some bitch throwing herself at me. She’s nothing compared to you." Charlie’s voice was low and coaxing. "You’re pregnant, don't think too much or you might lose the baby."
"No, I'm just asking." Brenda's voice was gentle and reassuring. When she’s not working, the shrewd female lawyer was very feminine and demure.
Not only was Andrea’s whole body painful, her heart was also torn to pieces.
She was speechless, and the cold tears trickled down her cheeks and onto his fingers.
She had always known that Charlie spent much time with other women, but she never thought that he had a relationship with Brenda, and she was even having his child!
My best friend, whom I had trusted completely. Just now she was pretending to care about me.
Andrea Qin burst into tears and coughed. She coughed and coughed, and blood sprayed from her mouth.
Charlie would either sneer at her or rebuke her coldly. He had never spoken to her in this tone.
How ironic!
She had given her property to him, had given her life to him, and even made a will for him. But he would rather love this woman.
Charlie hung up the phone and then released her hand. He glanced at the bloodstain on his finger and proceeded to wipe it with a paper towel.
Maybe he had broken her tooth, and it was bleeding.
Not even glancing at Andrea, Charlie picked up his suit coat from the table, turned around and walked out.
Andrea was like a rag doll, curled up on the table. She was coughing and dripping blood from the corner of her mouth.
Her lungs felt like it was being pricked by needles, but her body felt empty and numb. Maybe my father was right. Charlie was never trustworthy. He wasn’t worthy of her love.
But she had been obsessed with loving him, and even now wished he would turn back and be with her. Cancer was God's punishment for her!
At this point, she needed to let go. Andrea Qin opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Charlie, let's divorce." If he really hated her so much, then she was also a burden to him, so it's better to let him go.
Charlie stood still, frowning.
Is this woman crazy?
Last month, she had constantly asked him to sleep with her. Now wants a divorce? “What game are you playing now? Hard to get?" Charlie turned around, a disgusted look in his eyes. "Sorry, I’m not buying this."
At this time, he saw the blood flowing from the corner of her mouth, and her face was terribly pale. Frowning slightly, he wondered, how could this woman look so frail? She must be acting.
Charlie's face turned cold. "So you can't stand me now? I'm sorry, but I’m not letting you off so easily."
"Don't you hate me? Why don't you agree?" Andrea Qin stubbornly raised her head, but her chest hurt badly.
"You regret marrying me now, and want to find another man?" Charlie's smile was light, but his eyes were cold. "I don't want to divorce at all. Andrea Qin, unless you die, you'll be in my hands all your life! "
To make her live as though she was dead, that was the real purpose of his marriage.
With that, he strode away.
