10 Years Later.
The sun casted its light across the ocean's surface, glistening blindingly in the summer heat. Waves licked the soft sand, smothering fresh foot prints that were left behind. Adelaide walked along the shore, the water lapping at her ankles, its warmth barely mimicking that of the sun's rays on her already lightly tanned skin. Her blonde hair swayed against her lower back, slightly frizzed from the humidity. Sweat and the ocean spray carried by the gentle breeze speckled her skin with tiny droplets. She gazed out at the ocean, the water going on for miles. She ran her fingers over her bikini top, feeling the slivers of her scars that continued to decorate her skin. Her fingers stopped as they reached her lower belly where a new addition of scars now existed. She smiled to herself as she traced the long scar.
