Chapter 16

Jayzce "J-Geoff!" Her voice hitched, her legs wrapping around his waist. He groaned, pushing his cock in as deep as he could get it. Her nails dug into his back, the sting of pain making him moan. He never had to worry about getting hurt with his fast rejuvenation, but damn did this kink feel too damn good. "Come for me, my Queen." He bit her earlobe, tugging gently. Her panting quickened slightly as he increased the speed of his thrusts. He could feel himself edging closer to the finale. Just one more... "Geoff!" She nearly yelled until he covered her cry with his lips. He felt her walls convulse, sending himself off the cliff into ecstasy. He pumped into her, filling her with his seed. She trembled beneath him, clutching at his back after she released. "I love you, Adelaide ." He said as he pulled his lips away. She looked up at him, her eyes glossy as she smiled. She rested a small, slender hand on his cheek, the electric pulses making him shudder. "And I love you, Geoff." She replied to him, leaning up and kissing him so sweetly. He caved in, letting his heart and soul be devoured by this woman. "Hey Geoff, now that you're back, are you able to help with the ceremony?" She asked as they got dressed. He leaned against her vanity as she slipped her tank top back on, crossing his arms over his chest. "I can get the pack house in order. We have a large banquet hall we've always used for the receptions." He reached over, taking her hair and brushed it behind her ear. Her cheeks flushed lightly at the gesture. She grabbed his hand, stepping closer to him. "Have you ever thought this would happen between us upon our first interaction?" She asked him. He chuckled at her. "Absolutely not, but I am glad it all worked out this way." He watched her eyes flicker away for a moment, as if she wanted to say something. "What is it?" She still hesitated, her eyes downcast as she played with her fingers. "Well, it's just..." She let out a breath, meeting his gaze. "I did a TV interview when you were gone." She told him quickly. He raised a brow at her. "Oh? That is surprising. Did it go well?" He asked her. She looked away again. "Adelaide ?" He asked sternly. "Velma, she... she kind of got under my skin." She looked up at him through her long lashes. He let out a sigh. "Was it live?" He asked her. She nodded. He took out his phone, going through his apps until he found the NEWS and pulled it up. Her video was ranked in most views and it was merely days ago that she did it. He played it, admiring her gall for wearing such a cozy attire at a live interview. Was that his hoodie she was wearing? Everything appeared to be fine in exchanges until Velma questioned the open heart Adelaide gave at the Summer Soltice festival. He watched as Adelaide exposed herself to Velma, to the whole pack. He glanced at her, her eyes avoiding his. "Let me make this clear, once and for all." Adelaide 's voice brought him back to the screen. Her fierce green eyes were on the camera, talking to his people. He could vaguely hear Velma trying to cut her off, even end the interview, but Adelaide held strong. When she inclined her neck, he felt drawn to her powerful words. The video stopped and he set his phone down. "I know I should have asked you first," Adelaide said, "but I thought this would be the fastest way to reach your people." She finally looked at him. "The crew exposed their necks to me, Geoff. Even the producer!" She started to get excited. "Then after Elias shifted at the park, the she-wolves there also said I had their support." She was smiling to herself. He was gone a whole month and she had accomplished more than he did. "I'm proud of you, Adelaide . You'll make an excellent Queen." He told her, but his heart wasn't in it to fully congratulate her. It wasn't against her, of course. She obviously showed she was more than capable to handle this while he is away, but where did that leave him? The King? Adelaide wrapped her arms around his waist, her head resting against his chest. He rested his chin on her head, his arms around her shoulders. Through the embrace he felt the strength that he needed. He heard his wolf growl in what felt like forever. "Adelaide ." He spoke up, but she was already ahead of him. "I know. Call Derek. We need to try one more time." She told him. He nodded, looking down at his phone. "He might still say no." He reminded her. "Let him." She grabbed his hands and kissed them. "His opinion still doesn't change how I feel for you." She looked up at him. Geoff inclined his head at her, his fingers touching the mark he left her. It still felt like yesterday that he bit her. "You've changed, Adelaide ." He said. "In a good way, I hope." She smiled. He smiled back at her before it faded away. "How is it that you knew so much of what happened in Hawaii?" He asked her. She pulled back a bit more, her hand going to the Mark. "Your wolf has been a pretty good guide." She smiled to herself before letting the smile fall away. "I was able to see more than I'd like to admit." She pulled away from him. He watched her, his hand resting over his pocket. "Adelaide , I am truly sorry that I stooped so low. I don't deserve a woman like you." He said to her. Adelaide looked up at him, her hands resting on his face. "Geoff, I love you so very much." She bit her lip, "I'm... in love with you." Her face turned red, "I-I know that it's only been almost half a year together... B-but what I feel for you is so real." He watched her closely. He had spent almost twelve years of his life waiting for her. For someone to love him unconditionally. "Adelaide ... I..." "Knock knock." Damion knocked on their door before cautiously opening it. "Oh good, you're both done." He said. Adelaide blushed, looking away. Geoff's arm instinctively wrapped around her shoulder, pulling her against him. "What is it?" Geoff growled at him. Damion hesitated on taking a step further into the room. "Uh, lunch is ready." He lowered his gaze. Geoff still felt uneasy with Damion admitting his attraction to Adelaide . Did he do anything to her while he was away? No, Adelaide would have said something. She wouldn't keep something like that from him, right? When he looked down at Adelaide , her face was still flushed. Geoff growled deeply. "Did something happen when I was away?" He asked bluntly. Adelaide looked up at him surprised. Her eyes immediately moved away as she tried to form words. "J-Geoff... you see..." She started to explain, but Damion interrupted her. "Erica and I are Mated." He said to him. Geoff felt relieved, but Adelaide 's face still looked like she had something else to say. "We should go eat. I have so much to talk to my dad about." Her mood shifted and she smiled at him. She was definitely hiding something, but he wanted to believe there wasn't anything going on between Damion and Adelaide . She grabbed Geoff's hand, smiling sweetly up at him. He wanted to desperately believe that she wasn't hiding something else from him.
