Cole was terrified at the mere thought of Esther dying if they were just a second too late. All he could think about was that Esther must not die under any circumstances. Back in the hospital ward, Bradley's anger flared up as he noticed the oxygen tube had fallen off near the pillow. He thought that Esther was up to her old tricks again. As Bradley moved to reattach the oxygen tube, Felix slowly opened his eyes and met his father's furious gaze. The boy jolted and shrank in fear, stammering, "D-Daddy…" Upon hearing Felix's voice, Liliane rushed to him and hugged him tightly. She buried her head in the blanket, sobbing with relief. "Oh, thank goodness, thank goodness you're alright, Felix…" Felix felt uneasy as Liliane embraced him. He recalled her harsh words, which sent shivers down his spine. He wondered whether his father would believe everything that had just happened, but he wasn't sure and didn't want to take the risk. Then he thought of someone else—Grandpa Clark, who had
