Chapter 271
Clark stood silently by Esther's side, at a loss for how to persuade her to trust Bradley again.
"If Mr. Thomas were still alive and could see Felix, Tinkerbell, and Pixie, he would be pleased," Clark said.
Bradley remained indifferent. Despite its grandeur, Warner Manor lacked warmth until Esther married into the family. Over time, the manor gained a cozy and homely atmosphere.
Thomas had been particularly fond of Esther, fearing that Bradley's coldness and arrogance would drive her away. Clark had always believed that Esther would never leave Bradley, as her love for him was unwavering.
But now, Clark understood Esther's current state of mind. She no longer loved Bradley, and perhaps she no longer wanted him, either.
Could a woman's heart, once turned cold, be warmed again?
"Grandpa Thomas was the best grandfather in the world," Esther said.
When the viral video portrayed her as betraying Bradley, only Thomas had believed and supported her. He had tirelessly sought the truth.
