Chapter 2 Young Master Quigley's Savior
On the other side of the line, Rowan was wild with joy, and even her voice was trembling.
"Young Master Quigley?"
Leah looked at the ring on the table and suddenly remembered where she had seen it before. She had been at a socialite party and Young Master Quigley had been wearing this ring in a photo they were looking at.
It was the diamond ring passed down through the generations of the Quigley family.
Thinking back to what happened with Josie at the hospital yesterday, Leah instantly understood that the man was Myron Quigley!
Because Josie had used her name at the hospital, Myron thought that Leah was the one who had saved him.
She had unexpectedly become the 'savior' of the Imperial Capital's Young Master Quigley!
This was better than winning the lottery.
"Mommy, I have something to do now. Let's talk about it later."
Leah restrained the elation in her heart and quietly took the ring from the table when Josie was not paying attention. She walked up to Josie and said confidently, "If this happens again, you'll be burying your adoptive parents."
Leah left in a huff.
Josie had wanted to catch up on some sleep after getting home early in the morning, but now she'd overslept.
At this point she had no energy to figure out what was going on with Leah. She put on a mask to cover her face and immediately rushed to the hospital to find the man.
He had promised her a hundred million in reward.
That was the reward she risked her life for.
But who could have known that when Josie finally arrived at the hospital, the nurse would tell her that the man had already left?
She had no way of contacting him.
"Liar, bastard!"
"That 5,000 was all I had for the next 2 months!" Josie exploded on the spot, jumping up and down in anger, "2 months!"
She should have known better than to trust him.
Not only had she been fined 100 for being late with her delivery, but she had lost the 5,000 she put down for his medical costs.
It was a part-time delivery job, and now she'd lost more money than she'd made.
Josie's heart was bleeding.
She couldn't believe how naive she had been.
In the next few days, Josie worked harder and harder every day, working part-time doing delivery as well as bringing food to her adoptive parents in the hospital.
At night in the bar district.
Josie, who was dressed in a security uniform, and her colleagues of the security team were sitting in the monitoring room idly. "If I hadn't saved that ungrateful bastard, I wouldn't only be eating two meals a day this week! I've lost a bunch of weight and I'm so hungry all the time."
Her adoptive father had been in a coma since their car accident. Her adoptive mother stayed in the hospital at his side every day.
Although Leah's parents covered the medical expenses, Josie still needed to spend money on everything else.
She was already running low even before she gave that bastard her last 5000.
"Josie, so from the sounds of it, you have no idea what his name is or even what he looks like?"
James Chad, her colleague, asked.
Josie shook her head. "I remember his appearance, but he was unconscious at that time. How would I know his name... Then, you... see..."
"It's him, it's him!" Josie suddenly pointed at a person on the CCTV monitor.
As she spoke, she slapped the table and exclaimed angrily, "Bastard, I finally found you." She got up to walk out.
"Josie, wait."
James grabbed Josie's wrist and pointed at the person on the monitor in disbelief. "Are you sure it's him?"
"I would recognize that bastard anywhere."
"Josie, calm down. His name is Myron Quigley, he is the heir of the Quigley family, one of the four big families of Langi City. He is cold and ruthless, and his hands are stained with blood."
"Myron Quigley?"
Josie couldn't help but gasp.
The clubhouse she worked in was Langi City's most luxurious entertainment venue, and all of the people who came were famous businessmen, so she was not unfamiliar with Myron's name.
"What kind of person is he? If he wanted to repay your kindness, he would have no trouble finding you. Since he didn't come to you on his own, then he clearly doesn't want to pay you back. Josie, you have to put your own safety first. It's only 5,000, you should let it go."
"I..."
Josie was speechless for a moment, James' words were very reasonable.
But she still felt resentful.
After leaving the surveillance room and asking a few other colleagues, she found out that Myron was in Room 908.
Josie waited patiently until one in the morning before she saw Myron, who was dressed in a black shirt, walk out of the room and enter the elevator.
She stepped forward and followed him in.
There lower eight floors were the nightclub, above that were the hotel suites.
In the elevator, Josie glanced at Myron who was half a head taller than her out of the corner of her eye. He reeked of alcohol, and his handsome face was suffused with an abnormal blush. From time to time, his slender fingers would tug at the tie on his neck. He seemed to be quite drunk and flustered.
"Which floor are you going to?"
Suddenly, the man asked coldly.
Josie glanced at the number on the number button and said, "Level 38."
Myron said nothing.
Ding!
The elevator opened on the 38th floor.
The man walked out, and she followed closely behind.
However, Myron, who had only taken a few steps, suddenly stopped. Josie accidentally bumped into his back. "Ow, right... Sorr... "
Before she could finish her apology, the man in front of her suddenly turned around and grabbed her neck with his large palm. He said coldly, "Speak, who are you?"
"It hurts..."
"Let go of me, I... I can't breathe..." Josie slapped Myron's hand.
"Are you a woman?" Myron frowned and knocked off the security hat she was wearing.
Because Josie worked in the club, in order to avoid being taken advantage of, she disguised herself with a male voice, including her face.
Except for the manager and the security department, few people knew that she was a woman.
"Yes, yes."
"Tell me, who sent you here?"
"I... I just want to..."
"Do you want to be my woman?" Myron interrupted before Josie could finish her sentence.
He had noticed long ago that this security guard was sneaking around, and his wine today had been tampered with.
Sure enough, it was a woman who wanted to climb into his bed again.
Josie couldn't breathe.
What a bastard, what a way to repay her for saving his life!
She cursed angrily, "Be... be you..." Before she could finish speaking, the man released his grip on her neck.
Josie's body went limp and she fell to the ground. She propped her hand against the ground and gasped for breath. She could not stop coughing.
It was then that she noticed that the entire 38th floor was a private penthouse.
The silver-gray, cold design of the suite was luxurious and high-end.
It seemed that Myron had already noticed that something was suspicious about her.
