Chapter 28

The other two, Tristan and Lilith, remained cool and distant. They watched their two coy siblings in their mother's arms while eating French fries, refusing to join. Among the four children, Julian and Hailey were soft-hearted and loved acting spoiled. Tristan and Lilith were cool and composed, and less clingy. Each one of them was unique. Lara came out of the kitchen with the dishes. She put the plate on the table rather roughly, and said unhappily, "Why are you back? It’s still early! Did you get fired again? We can’t put food on the table anymore. Can’t you do something?" Lara had to take care of four children every day. She couldn’t take her eyes off them, worried they would get lost if she wasn’t careful enough. If she had money, she would hire a nanny to assist her. She wouldn’t need to be so exhausted every day. Unfortunately, Willow was struggling to make ends meet. Her salary was insufficient to cover the family expenses, let alone hire a nanny. Lara was so, so tired.
