Chapter 740

When Skylar got back to her room, she dug out their marriage contract. She'd never gone through it in detail. Joe must've considered various possibilities and outcomes while drafting the contract. Now that Skylar had read through the contract, she realized that Joe had buried a hope that his first love would return to his side. He would terminate the contract and compensate Skylar for it. She couldn't find fault in it, nor was she looking for any loopholes. She thought Joe would be terminating the contract early, so Skylar took the contract out so she could pass it on to him when the time came. Their divorce would probably happen in the next few days. Around 9:00 pm, Skylar took a shower and got ready for bed. Suddenly, Joe arrived home, reeking of alcohol. He gazed at Skylar deeply, albeit a little out of focus. As he walked into the bathroom for a shower, he said to Skylar, "Wait for me." Skylar did exactly that. A day was enough for her to prepare herself mentally.
