Caleb muttered, "Why is Joe here too?" The sight of Joe instantly put him on edge. Knowing about Joe's connection to Skylar only intensified his discomfort, tinged with a flicker of jealousy. He questioned whether someone as cold and ruthless as Joe could be tender with anyone. John noticed Caleb's sudden shift in demeanor. He nudged him and whispered, "Joe's possessive. If he finds out you have feelings for Skylar, how do you think he'll deal with you?" Caleb grimaced. "I know!" Since learning of Skylar's marriage to Joe, he'd forced himself to accept reality, relegating Skylar to the friend zone. Just then, Skylar and Joe entered. Alexander immediately beckoned Skylar over.
