Manfred ordered someone to remove the incense burner. Then, he commanded the servant not to tell anyone about Vivian's presence.
With the incense gone, the air felt fresher, and Manfred's headache eased.
Then, his gaze fell on Vivian.
The more he looked, the more captivated he became, and the harder it was to look away.
Vivian felt a bit uneasy under his stare. After all, she still wasn't sure who he really was.
For a moment, she didn't know what to say.
Then suddenly, her stomach let out a loud growl, snapping her back to reality.
She hadn't eaten in days.
For the past two days, she had been in a daze. And even when she was awake, those traffickers certainly wouldn't have fed her.
"I'm hungry. Is there any food?" she asked.
Manfred immediately called for a servant. "Prepare a meal. At once."
As the servant left, they cast Vivian a look. It was a look full of pity.
