Ted comforted Janine gently. "The doctors are performing the surgery now, and the medical team here is highly skilled. Trust me, Charles will be fine."
"Yes, Mom," Skylar chimed in, trying to reassure her mother. "Charles is tough. He's going to be okay and turn this calamity into a blessing."
Although Skylar was deeply worried, a voice inside her kept insisting that Charles would be okay, that his life was not in danger.
Janine understood they were trying to console her, and in her heart, she prayed for the same outcome they spoke of.
Thankfully, after about half an hour, Thelma was the first to be wheeled out of the operating room.
The doctor explained that her injuries weren't too severe—she had fractures in her arm and leg, some minor injuries, and a concussion, but with time to recover, she would heal fully.
Another half-hour later, Charles was also brought out of surgery.
