In truth, Kate's cooking wasn't particularly outstanding. However, her baked salmon and some of her stews were exceptional.
Right now, Natalie was craving Kate's cooking.
"Alright, when you get back, I'll make your favorite dish. I'll buy the freshest, biggest salmon at the market so you can eat your fill," Kate replied with a smile.
"Mom, you're the best."
Kate couldn't help but laugh for a moment, but her smile suddenly faded. Then, in a more serious tone, she said, "Nath, I just got a call from Mrs. Hughes."
"How is Mrs. Hughes doing lately?" Natalie asked, her smile vanishing.
Since she divorced Jeremy, she hadn't contacted the Hughes family, so she was unsure of what to say. To her, Eleanor had watched her grow up, just like her own mother.
