The more Jenny thought about it, the more afraid she became.
Rowan, while focused on driving, could sense the shift in Jenny's emotions. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to say the words to suggest going home together.
It was as if something deep within him was warning him not to take that step. So, they sat in silence the entire ride, not exchanging a single word until they pulled up to her house.
Once they reached the house, Jenny's eyes were red as she asked, "Rowan, do you not love me anymore? If you don't, I'll leave. I won't cling to you. But you can't just treat me so coldly like this."
Rowan looked at her with a hint of helplessness. He gently touched her head and said, "You're overthinking it. I've been really busy lately, and I honestly haven't thought about it much."
