The more women he met, the more Charles realized that finding one he could truly trust and want to marry was nearly impossible. People were too focused on what they could gain these days. Skylar had chatted with Charles before about his views on relationships and marriage. Back then, she thought he was being too rigid, lumping everyone into the same category. Joe was done with his shower and came out of the bathroom. Skylar also felt a bit sticky and uncomfortable after sweating while walking outside in the heat. Hence, she got up to shower. Halfway through her shower, she vaguely heard a knock at the door. Then came the sound of Joe answering, followed by some muffled voices. The sound of running water drowned out most of what was being said, so she couldn't make out anything. By the time she finished
