Savannah disagreed. Perhaps she was very irrational, but she simply couldn't leave Callan alone! The rain was still pouring, and another landslide might happen at any time.
"Vannah, listen to me..." Callan spoke with difficulty, trying to convince her.
Savannah kept on shaking her head. "I'm a direction idiot in the mountain and without you, I won't be able to find the exit. Besides, aren't you worried about me? What if I'm buried? Who's going to save me?"
Callan was rendered speechless. He knew what she said didn't make sense, but he could not find a way to get her to leave. Since Vannah said so, she must have made up her mind to stay with him.
"Callan, don't give up. I can get you out! Trust me!"
Hearing no response from him, Savannah stopped talking and continued to move the stones away. She leaned forward and reached out. "Callan, come on, give me your hand!"
Callan held her hand while shaking his head. "Vannah, my legs are pinned under a tree and I can't move at all. It's useless
