"You know, Gemma, I really thought you'd be more nervous. You're not that bad. This could be the start of a great friendship." I looked at my brother in shock. What the hell was going on here? Gemma giggled at me taking a sip of his whiskey, but his hand was still on my thigh.
I sat there quietly. By the time the ballroom was ready, I was on my sixteenth glass of champagne.
We walked in and I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the feeling that Gemma holding me in his arms. His strong arms wrapped around my waist. I leaned into him more and he showed a questioning looking. I mouthed the word 'just acting' and he nodded, pulling me closer.
We sat down at tables and when I was tempted to leave, Gemma stopped me.
