Alexander ignored me, continuing, "I’ll have Gabriella bring you something to eat."
"I told you to leave. Didn’t you hear me?"
I kept my eyes shut, my voice cold but steady. "Well, you wouldn’t have locked me in the bedroom if you cared otherwise."
Alexander paused, frozen for a moment, standing silently. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke, "Fine, I’ll go. When Gabriella arrives, please eat something, alright?"
He walked out slowly, sitting on the bench outside the door, his anger palpable.
As the door creaked shut, I let out a breath of relief and slowly opened my eyes. My eyelids were swollen, and my gaze was clouded with unshed tears that I couldn’t stop from spilling over.
