Chapter 186: It Was Fate That Brought Them Together
They hadn't seen each other for a couple of years. Lainey no longer held a grudge against Rooney. Yet, she still felt a little sorry when she saw him in such a miserable state.
"You think you can just get rid of me with this little money?"
Rooney disdainfully said, weighing the 50 thousand dollars in his hand, "Your mom sold my house and company, yet she didn't give a penny. Didn't she give you a large portion? Now do you think giving me this small sum will settle everything?"
Rooney was hopping mad.
After being released from prison, he had hoped to make a comeback. But he never expected that when he returned, his house and company were gone, all sold by Alena. Rooney couldn't reach Alena, but he could find Lainey.
Rooney didn't believe that Alena would sell off so much of his property and not give Lainey a single penny. Since he couldn't find Alena to ask for the money, he had no choice but to come to Lainey.
After all, Alena was her mother. Who else could he turn to if not her?
