Chapter 18 Auction

He had probably gone over to Carolyn's place since they had both run into her at the auction that night. "Let go of me!" Marjorie shouted at Stephen. Stephen froze momentarily. Then, all of a sudden, he got on top of her and started kissing her all over her body. Marjorie summoned all the strength she had within her to shove him away. "Get away from me!" Stephen was stunned by this sudden change in behavior. "What's wrong? Don't you like me?" Marjorie turned around and ignored him. After some time, Stephen suddenly heard her sob. He wondered if it was because he had been too rough with her, but he could not help thinking she was being a little too dramatic. Since she was already in love with another man, why did she marry him? Was he just a rebound? Unbeknownst to Stephen, Marjorie could not tolerate infidelity.
